Simple, Specific and Accurate RNA Quantitation

The QuantiFluor® RNA Select System provides a fluorescent RNA-binding dye in an automation-friendly "add-and-read" format, simplifying RNA quantitation and speeding up your workflow. The system can accurately assess RNA concentration over a broad dynamic range (16–1,000ng/µl) and is ideal for downstream RNA sequencing applications.

Combined Sensitivity and Broad Range in a Single Dye

The QuantiFluor® RNA Select System combines high-sensitivity and broad-range quantitation in a single dye, making it ideal for RNA sequencing template inputs. Competing vendors require users to select between different dye products. The QuantiFluor® RNA Select System eliminates the confusion.

Specificity to RNA

The QuantiFluor® RNA Select System specifically quantitates RNA in complex biological samples. RNA specificity ensures researchers confidently measure RNA without interference from DNA, making it ideal for applications such as RNA-seq, assessing in vitro transcription yields, Northern blot analysis, RNase protection assays, cDNA library preparation and RT-PCR.

The QuantiFluor® RNA Select System and Competitor Q System were tested for specificity to RNA. Results show comparable RNA specificity between both systems.

Line graph comparing fluorescence (RFU) vs. ng nucleic acid for QuantiFluor® RNA Select and Competitor Q Systems. Both systems show strong fluorescence response to RNA+DNA mixtures and minimal response to DNA alone, indicating comparable RNA specificity.
Scatter plot comparing dye stock freeze-thaw stability over 10 cycles. QuantiFluor® RNA Select Dye maintains near 100% purity by relative peak area throughout, while Competitor Q declines steadily, demonstrating superior freeze-thaw stability for QuantiFluor® RNA Select System.

Add-and-Read Format

The QuantiFluor® RNA Select System is more stable than competitor dye products. The working dye solution can be mixed and stored for up to 1 week and used in an add-and-read format, greatly simplifying user workflow.

When compared for freeze-thaw stability at –20°C, the QuantiFluor® RNA Select System did not freeze, whereas the Competitor Q System did freeze. Results show superior stability of the QuantiFluor® RNA Select System over the Competitor Q System.

Scatter plot showing the QuantiFluor® RNA Select System standard curve with fluorescence (RFU) vs. ng RNA Standard (0–1,000). Data points follow a highly linear trend (R²=0.9999), demonstrating excellent sensitivity and dynamic range from 1.6ng/µl to 100ng/µl.

Sensitivity, Linearity and Dynamic Range

The QuantiFluor® RNA Select System detects as little as 1.6ng/µl RNA per assay using the Quantus™ Fluorometer (corresponding to 10µl of starting sample). The detection limit is defined as greater than three standard deviations above background RFU.

This graph shows a representative QuantiFluor® RNA Select System standard curve generated from a 1.2kb RNA transcript in a 96-well plate format. The assay linearity and dynamic range are shown for a range of 1.6ng/µl–100ng/µl (10µl in a 200µl assay).

Faster than qPCR; More Accurate than Absorbance

QuantiFluor® RNA Select System gives you results faster and at less cost than a qPCR assay, while being more accurate than absorbance methods. The system is also compatible with high-throughput formats, which means that it's just right for you.
